**Rescheduled from 8/31 to 9/21!**
This beginner-friendly Intro to Forrest Yoga workshop is perfect for both those who are completely new to yoga and those who have some experience but are unfamiliar with Forrest Yoga - as well as anyone who wants a simple yet satisfying practice on a Saturday!
Forrest Yoga (named for its creator Ana Forrest - not trees) is a strong yet slower-paced practice, which gives you time in each posture to dive deeper into feeling the nuance and subtleties of your inner experience. This modern style of practice is a unique and powerful way to connect with your inner peace and get to know yourself in mind, body, and spirit.
Throughout the embodied and empowering experience of Forrest Yoga, you can expect to be challenged both physically and mentally, improve your strength and flexibility, connect to your core with abdominal exercises, take radically deep breaths, and most importantly to FEEL as you create more space in your body and your mind.
There will be a short discussion/Q&A portion, and the asana (movement) practice will be 60-75m. As always, options are given for all bodies and abilities so you can tailor your practice to your needs. The room will be a warm 75° - although not as warm as the 85° Hot FY class!

Join us for Self Care Sunday relaxation, meditation and crystal bowl sound healing experience. This Sunday's focus is clearing aligning and balancing our Chakra Energy Centers.
Crystal singing bowls are made from 99% quartz. The crushed quartz is heated to a degree where it can be shaped into bowls and then tuned to the desired notes. The properties of quartz in the crystal singing bowls offer you a very different kind of experience. Quartz crystal is an amplifier and transmitter of thought, emotion, and intention. Quartz crystal amplifies the biofield, or human energy field, around you.
Sound is a very physical energy. As vibrational energy, it goes through you faster than it goes through the air. Sound is also food for your nervous system. Sound energy stimulates the release of hormones from your nervous system. These can be hormones that support health or disease.

MyoYin Yoga & Yoga Nidra are a match made in yoga heaven! These Self-Care Sunday offerings are held at Midland Yoga Collective on the first Sunday of each month (plus occasional bonus classes on other Sundays). Whether you take one or both classes, you're sure to leave feeling super relaxed!
~~~
MyoYin Yoga is 75 minutes of deep passive stretching in yin yoga stillness combined with soothing self-myofascial massage with therapy balls ('myo' is from 'myofascia': myo = muscle, fascia = connective tissue), all ending with a relaxing sound bath savasana.
This class can help you to:
- increase flexibility
- reduce muscle tension
- find freedom in your fascia
- soothe your nervous system
- feel overall more relaxed and at ease in both body and mind
Expect to learn techniques for self-myofascial release using Yoga Tune Up therapy balls both independent from and in combination with yin postures (poses held passively with little to no effort or movement for between 1-5 minutes each).
~~~
Yoga Nidra is a 45 minute fully-guided meditation experience that will quiet your mind and relax your body, right down to your innermost center. This practice (often referred to as "yoga naptime") requires no movement or experience. Expect to be guided verbally through layers of inner awareness toward profound relaxation - you'll awake from this practice feeling fully refreshed and renewed.
